1 Corinthians 6:12-13

“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. “Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food”—and God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.


GLUTTONY …

Excess in eating; extravagant indulgence of the appetite for food (Webster Dictionary)


An appetite out of control.


“Gluttony is moving beyond the pleasure God intended for us and starts to do harm to our body.” (Tim Smith, Methodist Pastor)

Gluttony from a biblical perspective has to do with self-indulgence – it is taking into your body more than your body needs. “I CRAVE so I CAVE”


HOW TO RISE ABOVE GLUTTONY…


EAT PROPERLY

We must to learn to eat healthy and proportionately!

We need to fruit of the Spirit badly if we want to rise above gluttony!

CONCLUSION

Gluttony will lead to poverty!


Proverbs 23:21

For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
