INTRODUCTION

“The resurrection of Jesus was the most important event in the Christian culture and theology. It provided the ground for their faith and belief.” – (Logos – Factbook)

“Death is the prerequisite to resurrection; the new life God intends.” - John Ortberg

THE RESURRECTION POWER

1. THE SEAL OF _______________ THROUGH THE SPIRIT – v. 9

You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

• We are not in the flesh but in the Spirit.

The Spirit dwells in us.

We are marked by the Spirit of Christ.

2. THE _______________ BROUGHT BY THE SPIRIT – v. 10

But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

• Christ is in us.

Our body is dead because of sin.

Our spirit is alive because of righteousness.

3. THE _______________ POWER OF THE SPIRIT – v.11

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

• The Sprit will give life to our mortal bodies.

CONCLUSION

1 Corinthians 15:16-20 (TPT)

16 If the dead aren’t raised up, that would mean that Christ has not been raised up either. 17 And if Christ is not alive, you are still lost in your sins and your faith is a fantasy. 18 It would also mean that those believers in Christ who have passed away have simply perished. 19 If the only benefit of our hope in Christ is limited to this life on earth, we deserve to be pitied more than all others! 20 But the truth is, Christ is risen from the dead, as the firstfruit of a great resurrection harvest of those who have died.
